  • 16 Jan, 9.30am-12pm – Totara Park, Manurewa (meet at main carpark Wairere Road entrance)
  • 13 Feb, 10am-12pm– Clevedon Scenic Reserve, Franklin (meet in car park at Thorps Quarry road)
  • 5 Mar, 9.30am-12pm – Puhinui Reserve, Otara/Papatoetoe (meet at end of Prices road)
  • 17 Apr, 9.30am-12pm – Te Puke O Tara/Hampton park, Otara/Papatoetoe (meet at 344 East Tamaki Road, East Tamaki)
  • 15 May, 9.30am-12pm– Margans/Kirks Bush, Papakura (meet at Kirks Bush entrance Great South Road, Papakura)
  • 21 Jun, 10am-12pm – Otuataua Stonefields, Māngere/Otahuhu (meet at 56 Ihumatao Quarry Road)

Visit some of your local parks and be guided by a Community Ranger.

Learn about the flora and fauna and the history of the parks.

Experience some unique landscape and some great vistas.

  • 16 Jan – Totara Park, Manurewa. Some steps and hills, moderate fitness.
  • 13 Feb – Clevedon Scenic Reserve, Franklin. Steep climb to look out but we will take it slowly.
  • 5 Mar – Puhinui Reserve, Otara/Papatoetoe. Relatively easy walking but across sand and farmland, we may pick up rubbish on the way.
  • 17 Apr – Te Puke O Tara/Hampton park, Otara/Papatoetoe. Walk across farmland, some uneven ground but easy.
  • 15 May – Margans/Kirks Bush, Papakura. Bush tracks, some hills at Margans Bush. We visit two reserves.
  • 21 Jun – Otuataua Stonefields, Māngere/Otahuhu. Matariki Event, walking across grassed areas, some uneven and rocky ground.
