All you need is your smartphone and a sense of adventure!

The Great Whau Biodiversity Survey is part of our wider Te Whau Citizen Science environmental and biodiversity monitoring programme.

Citizen Science provides new levels of collaboration and new opportunities for non-experts to contribute directly to science and future decision making.

We need your help to find all the different critters and plants in the Whau area. This baseline survey will provide us with crucial evidence for future conservation.

Its easy to join and do – you can contribute from your own backyard.

  2. Download the inaturalist app
  3. Read the how-to-guides
