With her eye trained on deforestation and habitat loss; Mandy Patmore’s work focuses on the past, present and future of our forests in Aotearoa and the plight of many of our endangered native species.
From forest to housing, rubbish pile to gallery, Home explores the notion of habitat, as each piece of timber holds the memory of the many stages of its life. Patmore’s work also tests the concept of value – the idea that something once deemed as rubbish can become important with a small shift in perception.
