A message for current or former servicemen and women:

Anyone who has served, or is serving, in the NZDF is welcome to join the Auckland Regimental Association.

We are an inclusive organisation that welcomes current and former NZ and allied servicemen and women of all arms and all services, including those with CMT, NS, TF and RF experience.

We are a sociable group of people that mount various activities to support the current servicemen and women of the Auckland based 3/6 Battalion - “Countess of Ranfurly’s Own”.

On the last Friday evening of each month from May to October inclusive, we have a FREE lecture programme on military themes. The lectures start at 7.00pm, though you are welcome from 6.00pm to meet and socialise with our membership.

All lectures take place at NZDF at Arch Hill, 204 Great North Road.

Programme to October 2018:

  • 28 September – NZ Victoria Cross Winners of WW1
  • 18 October – WW1 Western Front 1918

Our presenters are usually historians with a military background, current servicemen or women who have recent service overseas or are interesting people with a story to tell - such as Foreign Legionnaires.

The Auckland Regimental Association

A little-known fact about the Regimental Association is that we have a Regimental Cairn in the Auckland Domain facing the cricket pavilion. The field on which the cairn is situated is where the various infantry battalions that made up the Auckland Regiment encamped before marching to the harbour to set sail for the Middle East in World War 1.

The cairn is made of stones gifted by the Republic of Turkey and collected from the beach of ANZAC Cove. Every ANZAC Day and Armistice Day we assemble there at 0930 for a half hour ceremony to remember. The citizenry of Auckland are all most welcome at our small intimate “family” (military) service.

We also have a Q Store where military-themed memorabilia may be purchased including our magnificent centennial book “Auckland Infantry” ($45 standard or $55 in slipcase).

A membership form is available from our website.
