About Gretchen:

After meditating for many years and experiencing teachers and methods from different Buddhist traditions, Gretchen met Lama Ole Nydhal (lama-ole-nydahl.org) in 1996 and co-founded the Portland Diamond Way Buddhist Center two months later.

She works as a dietitian and counsellor in private practice specializing in eating disorders, as well as a spiritual director, a kind of counselling that focuses on spirituality. She has taught health-related topics and hatha yoga for many years and began teaching meditation to beginners in 2000. She has been teaching in Diamondway centres since 2006.

About Diamond Way Buddhism Auckland:

The Auckland Diamond Way Buddhist group (part of Diamond Way Buddhism New Zealand) is a not-for-profit organisation and was established in February 2008. We offer regular guided meditation evenings, Dharma talks and a monthly Introduction to Buddhism for newcomers.

Diamond Way Buddhism New Zealand is part of an international network of around 650 meditation centres in more than 50 countries around the world in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The centres were founded by Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of the 16th Karmapa. They are now under the guidance of the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.

Our centres consist of people and families working in full-time jobs, and incorporating Diamond Way Buddhism teachings and meditation into their daily lives.
