Under Auckland Council’s new 10-year budget, library opening hours have changed to ensure resources are better shared across the region.
The council’s governing body funds baseline hours and some local boards have chosen to fund additional library hours for their local communities.
Library users told us they value weekend opening hours, so all libraries will remain open on Saturdays, and more are opening on Sundays.
