5 walks we love
Te Ara Hura is a network of walking tracks all across Waiheke Island.

Here are five of our favourite walks in Auckland. There are hundreds more right across the region, ranging from short strolls to multi-day adventures.

5 of our favourite walks

  1. The Mt Eden Village walkway takes in the early history of this inner-city suburb.
  2. Explore Waiheke on Te Ara Hura, a 100km network of tracks around the entire island.
  3. Complete the 4km Puhinui Stream Forest Trail linking Tōtara Park and Auckland Botanic Gardens.
  4. The Awaroa Walkway runs from Shelly Park Beach, Howick, to Musick Point. There are a number of access points along the walkway, which follows the coastline, or if the tide is full, reserves and roads.
  5. The Heritage Trail in Shakespear Regional Park is a two-hour walk featuring many sites of historical interest.
