Get gardening tips from the experts
Botanical Records and Conservation Officer Emma Bodley is part of a team of experts at the Auckland Botanic Gardens.

With spring in the air, many of us are thinking about what to plant in the garden this season.

Choosing things that will grow well isn’t always straightforward, though, and that’s where the experts at Auckland Botanic Gardens come in.

If you’ve got a question about what to plant, they can help – they only recommend plants that grow well in Auckland.

Free workshops

Keep an eye out for free workshops, with topics ranging from gardening in small spaces to growing African plants.

Identify a plant

If you’ve found a plant in your garden that you’d like to identify, the staff love solving mysteries – whether it’s a pesky weed or a beautiful specimen tree.

They can also help identify a pest or disease causing trouble.
