Green thumbs tidy up Howick Village

More than 70 volunteers came together last Saturday to support the Manukau Beautification Charitable Trust clean-up of Howick Town Centre.

The annual sweep of tidy-ups in Auckland's southern region is part of the Town and Local Centre Clean-up Initiative, started this year by Mayor Len Brown.

Howick Village was the first of eight town centres to be beautified by volunteers who gathered to weed, wash, paint and tidy the area, in addition to planting and collecting 680kg of rubbish.
