Developments to Western Park are almost complete, and inner-city residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the upgraded park in time for summer.

Pathways throughout the park are now smoother and wider, and a route along the western ridge has new lighting along its full length.

Improvements part of development plan

The improvements are part of the long-term vision in the Western Park Development Plan and Waitematā Local Board’s drive to provide quality parks and open spaces for its community.

Set to become another favourite destination playground, the new play equipment includes a 22m slide. Playground and park enhancements are on schedule to be complete by the end of October 2016.
