Whether it is introducing yourself over the fence, having a cup of tea or arranging a play date for your kids at the local park, Neighbours Day is the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbours better.
Happening 25-26 March, Neighbours Day Aotearoa is a national campaign that aims to turn strangers into neighbours and streets into neighbourhoods.
Small grants available
In Auckland, several of Auckland Council’s local boards are supporting Neighbours Day by offering small grants for neighbourhood events and are partnering with community organisations.
Events should help to foster the priniciples of Neighbours Day to create fun, safe and respectful neighbourhoods, with a great sense of belonging and identity.
While Neighbours Day is 25-26 March, events can take place between 25 March to 30 April.
