Playground review: Ōtāhuhu Recreation Precinct

We're taking a look at some of Auckland's best playgrounds. This week: Ōtāhuhu Recreation Precinct, 30 Mason Avenue, Ōtāhuhu.

What’s on offer?

This volcano-inspired playground in the Ōtāhuhu Recreation Precinct will provide hours of fun and entertainment for the kids.

With large grass mounds to conquer, slides back to the bottom and grass covered craters, kids will have a great time imagining they’re exploring one of Auckland’s volcanoes.

Other highlights of the playground include small ground-level trampolines, which are safe and accessible, as well as plenty of climbing, hanging and spinning play equipment.

There are drinking fountains to stay hydrated and picnic tables where you can enjoy a packed lunch.

More to do

A library; aquatic centre with toddler, learning, lap and bombing pools; and community teaching garden are a stone’s throw away from the playground and are great ways to spend the rest of the day.
