Pukekohe Station upgrade to start in July

Auckland Transport has chosen Downer to undertake the main construction works on the Pukekohe Station upgrade after a competitive tender process.

The $15.4 million project will cover the build of the new park and ride area, improved bus station facilities and a pedestrian overbridge at the new integrated bus and train station.

Construction is due to begin in July and be completed in early 2018.

New station facilities will link bus services with the existing rail services. Commuter parking space and cycle parking will be provided along with improved connections to the local road and footpath networks.

Social and economic procurement was a key element in the tender process for Pukekohe Station and the successful contractor will be engaging with The Southern Initiative for the project.
