Council chief financial officer to stand down
Auckland Council Group Chief Financial Officer Sue Tindal is leaving the organisation.

Auckland Council Group Chief Financial Officer Sue Tindal has announced that she will be taking a well-earned break and leaving the organisation by the end of 2017 to take up a role in the private sector.

Ms Tindal joined Auckland Council in 2015 and has led a significant number of projects including the 2015-2025 10-year budget and two subsequent Annual Budgets, delivering NewCore, (the council’s key IS transformation project), and renegotiating the contract with SAP resulting in $33 million of savings.

Auckland Council Chief Executive Stephen Town says, “I would like to thank Sue for her contribution to the council, the wider Council Group and Auckland."

“We have been fortunate to have had her in the organisation for the past three years, where she has expertly led a number of initiatives that have helped strengthen Auckland Council’s financial strategy and management, and also improved the organisation’s capability across a number of services delivered by the Finance Division.”

“I have no doubt Sue will be a great advocate for the council and Auckland in her new role, and I wish her every success in the future.”

Matthew Walker, General Manager, Financial Strategy and Planning, will be acting Group Chief Financial Officer in the interim.
