If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at croquet but never had a chance to, here’s the perfect opportunity to at the Epsom Remuera Croquet Club’s Open Day.
Qualified coaches will provide instructions and demonstrations, and this is a free, fun day for anyone willing to give croquet a go with games and prizes, and nibbles and soft drinks. Some of Auckland's top croquet players will also be there to give short demonstrations of Association Croquet.
To even the playing field, people are invited to try golf croquet, a game that anyone can play. Golf croquet is easy; the tone is social, and the accent is on serious fun on the day. People can take young ones along.
As well as the traditional games of croquet and golf croquet, gateball is on offer too. Gateball is new to the club and is a fast and sometimes furious team game for between two and ten players. Each game lasts 30 minutes providing both sporting and social interaction.
Epsom Remuera Croquet Club is proudly supported by Albert-Eden Local Board and hold a community facilities lease at 259 Gillies Ave in Epsom.
The Free Open Day is on Sunday 25 November, from 10am to 2pm for everyone in the family.
