Devonport-Takapuna Local Board and Kaipātiki Local Board have approved a 30-year plan to help shape the future of Sunnynook, Totara Vale and Forrest Hill.
“The purpose of the plan is to build on the area’s many attractive and valued qualities to ensure this area of North Shore prospers over the next 30 years,” says Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Chair George Wood.
“The plan recognises that significant change is likely to occur over the next few decades, so this plan will help us prepare for those changes and enable us to make the most of opportunities that come with Auckland’s continued growth,” he says.
Kaipātiki Local Board member Paula Gillon says the plan is focused on the future needs of the community and identifies and builds on what is already working.
“The plan promotes getting more value from our existing parks, open spaces and community facilities in the area."
"It will also help to shape and drive improvements to the Sunnynook Town Centre and transport connections within the area, including in Totara Vale," she says.

The Sunnynook Plan was sponsored by Devonport-Takapuna and Kaipātiki local boards, and was developed in partnership with the Sunnynook Community Association.
