Here are ten of the best playground adventures you can find across the region!

1. Tūī Glen Reserve

2 Claude Brookes Drive, Henderson

Bring your bikes and cruise down the Twin Streams cycleway for this towering pyramid complete with pipe slides, a basket swing, an eagle’s nest, dual flying foxes, a tree hut and sand pit area!

2. Ōtāhuhu Recreation Precinct

30 Mason Avenue, Ōtāhuhu

Give your kids the feeling of exploring one of Auckland’s volcanoes with large grass mounds and craters, slides to the bottom, small ground-level trampolines which are safe and accessible, and plenty more play equipment.

Just a stone’s throw away is a library, aquatic centre and community teaching garden for a full day’s worth of adventure.

3. Rocket Park

Rocket Park is an Auckland playground institution – there’s something for everyone from preschoolers to pre-teens, including an accessible swing and adult gym equipment.

4. Allenby Park

66 Allenby Road, Papatoetoe

A hugely popular 10m tower slide for big kids plus play equipment for all ages including a sand and water play area and skate park. There’s also ample room to set down a picnic with restrooms nearby.

If you’ve ever wanted to play snakes and ladders in real life, here’s your chance! With slides and stepping posts set on a hillside, this recently renovated playground is a hit with the kids.
