Call for Auckland’s youth to Stand Up Stand Out

Could you be the next big thing in Kiwi music or dance?

Don’t miss your chance to step into the spotlight and wow the crowd – get your entry in for Stand Up Stand Out 2018, Auckland’s premier secondary school music and dance competition.

From RnB, reggae, folk and rock to jazz ballet, contemporary and hip hop, Stand Up Stand Out (SUSO) is where Auckland’s youth come out to shine and vie for more than $6000 in prizes for their school.

Winners will be invited to attend an exclusive masterclass workshop led by an industry professional from the SUSO 2018 judging panel. The best original works performed this year will be featured in the SUSO 2018 digital compilation.

The SUSO 2018 Finals event at Vodafone Events Centre on 1 September is also a great chance to take the stage and shine in front of New Zealand music industry representatives and your schoolmates, friends and whānau. You’ll be amazed by the talent!

The heats and semi-finals will be hosted at Ōtara Music Arts Centre (OMAC), which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2018.

Brought to you by Auckland Council, the annual SUSO competition showcases the thrilling energy of live performance and represents a stunning, positive expression of Auckland youth from all backgrounds.

Applications are now open for musicians and dancers from Auckland secondary schools and alternative education institutions to register for the solo vocal, group vocal, solo instrumental, bands and dance competition categories.
