Calling all rappers, poets, spoken word performers and songwriters!

If you write your own material in any word-based genre, then this is the event for you.

Word Up! is an exciting performance competition which gives 13 to 21-year-olds the opportunity to present their original work, from rap, poetry and spoken word to song lyrics or even stand-up comedy.

Corban Estate Arts Centre (CEAC) first launched Word Up! 13 years ago as an initiative for local youth. It has since grown to include young people from all over Auckland, offering 13 to 21-year-olds a chance to perform their original word-based performance works before an audience.

The final performance is part of the Going West Books & Writers Festival and will be judged by three established arts practitioners.
