Legal proceedings were filed in the High Court on 18 July and served on Regional Facilities Auckland Limited, Auckland Council and Auckland Mayor Phil Goff in relation to the Regional Facilities Auckland decision to cancel an event at the Bruce Mason Centre scheduled for 3 August 2018.
Auckland Council's General Counsel James Hassall says, "The papers include an application to have the matter heard with urgency.
"The council’s legal team is assessing the claims made and will consider the response on behalf of the Council group.
"As the matter is now before the courts, we are unable to comment further at this stage."
