Carlton St 68 bus route safety information

Publish Date : 13 Aug 2018

On Sunday 8 July 2018, Auckland Transport launched a new bus network for Auckland's central suburbs. These changes are part of a simpler, more frequent and integrated public transport network that's being implemented for the whole of Auckland by the end of 2018.

The changes included better evening and weekend services, more frequent bus routes to and from the city centre, and improved crosstown routes so you can travel between central suburbs without going through the city centre.

One of these bus services, route 68, connects New Lynn, Blockhouse Bay, Hillsborough and Onehunga.

The route was planned to travel on Carlton St but while infrastructure on this street is reviewed, route 68 will travel on the motorway to Onehunga and not Carlton Street, Frederick Street, Beachcroft Ave and Church Street until further notice.

Auckland’s public transport services are guided by the Regional Public Transport Plan. This statutory document describes the aims and intent of the regional public transport plan and provides information on how services are operated.

In line with this plan, a foremost objective of AT is to increase public transport usage across the Auckland Region.
