Upgrades to Stadium Drive include a widened footpath, improved lighting and landscaping.

Local rugby fans were the first to christen the upgraded Stadium Drive, during the club finals at ECOLight Stadium in late July.

As part of the Pukekohe Town Centre Revitalisation Project, Stadium Drive has been upgraded with a wide pedestrian footpath between ECOLight Stadium, the courthouse and town centre, improved lighting and a landscaped seating area.

Franklin Local Board Chair Andy Baker says, “The upgrade is a vast improvement. Not only is the wider footpath safer for people heading to the games, but with the new seating it also provides a meeting place. Stadium Drive is an important part of the wider programme of streetscape upgrades in Pukekohe.”

Work completed under the project to date includes upgrades on King Street, Roulston Street, Edinburgh Street, Hall Street, Massey Avenue, Tobin Street and West Street.

Other work that has been completed includes the revitalised Pukekohe Town Square and the relocation of the Possum Bourne statue.
