About Ambury Regional Park

  • Ambury Regional Park is one of 27 regional parks managed by Auckland Council. It is a working farm with a variety of cattle and sheep, as well as goats, chickens, pigs, a horse, turkeys, rabbits and peacocks.
  • First held in spring 1988, Ambury Farm Day is about making farming and outdoor recreation accessible to all Aucklanders – connecting the city with country life. It takes more than 200 committed volunteers (many of them council staff) to help make the event happen.
  • Ambury Regional Park offers a range experiences, including picnicking, camping, walking, mountain biking, barbecues and visiting the animals. You can also experience cow milking and lamb feeding at appropriate times of the year.
  • The park is a bird watcher’s paradise, so keep a look out for odwits, knots, pied oystercatchers, wrybills, pied, black and little shags and white-faced herons.
  • Dogs are not permitted at Ambury Regional Park because of the threat to native birds and farm animals.
