Magnificence of Embroidery by Hong Ying Yao

Ms Yao uses both parallel stitches and random stitches. She often splits a single thread into one-half, one-thirty-second, and even one-sixty-fourth, making the stitches extremely fine and intricate.

She incorporates thin and thick threads, long and short stitches, and techniques such as colour arrangement, layering, overlapping and winding to create combinations of lines with rich expressions.

In a two-dimensional embroidery piece, Ms Yao amplifies the shiny nature of embroidery threads with a mix of colours and techniques.
