This exhibition showcases Timothy Clarke’s new paintings, which were executed using newly developed techniques and inspired by Timothy’s love of buildings, “for me, buildings are functional art” says the artist.

The paintings feature the buildings of Auckland’s iconic Karangahape Road. Some of these buildings were built 120 years ago and exemplify the design and creativity of the era in which they were erected.

In his bold, colourful style, Timothy captures the essence of these buildings, inviting viewers to appreciate their historical beauty, which he says is “often missed because they are looking down at their phones – a modern distraction”.
