The upgrade to Kingsland’s Nixon Park is on schedule, and residents are expected to be able to use the new park in February 2017.
The upgrade involves the installation of a state-of-the-art hybrid surface. The turf blends grass and synthetic turf to allow for year-round conditions. This means fewer field closures, a better playing surface and more hours of use.
Once completed, Nixon Park will become the first hybrid sports field in New Zealand.
