Playground review: Beachside fun

We’re taking a look at some of Auckland's best playgrounds. This week: Mission Bay playground, 48-56 Tamaki Drive, Mission Bay.

What’s on offer?

Located on Selwyn Reserve next to Auckland's famous Mission Bay beach, this playground has something for everyone. It’s a very popular spot all year round but especially during the summer months.

Here you’ll find kids sliding, climbing, spinning and rocking on the variety of play equipment.

The separate junior play area is perfect for toddlers and features two slides, safe rocking seesaws and diggers, and a sandpit area.

There’s also plenty of seating underneath the shaded trees around the playground.

More to do

Enjoy an ice block and stretch out the legs on the nearby park, build sandcastles at the beach or visit the famous fountain pool.

Car parking is also available next to the playground but this does fill up during the busy summer months.
