Over the next ten years, the Downtown Programme will create a generous and welcoming destination along the water’s edge that is recognisably Tāmaki Makaurau.
We are creating a space that strengthens people’s connection with the Waitematā Harbour. Residents, workers and visitors will enjoy a safer, more attractive, people-focussed environment in which to move, rest and meet.
Key projects within the programme are being accelerated. By 2021, in time for the 36th America’s Cup and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum (APEC), Aucklanders will see a vibrant and attractive downtown area.
Over November and December, we will be popping up at different locations, times and events downtown where you can talk to us and see where we are up to with the different projects.
