Another century should be no problem for Warkworth Town Hall.

The heritage-listed building has already stood proudly at the heart of the Mahurangi community for 107 years and was recently extensively refurbished.

A local resident also provided new stage curtains, a sound system and projector with a stage-sized screen.

Rodney Local Board Parks and Recreation Committee chair Brent Bailey says now that the hard work is finished, the building can continue serving the community as it has done for so long.

“We hope people see how special the hall is, enjoy using it and help keep a critical part of Warkworth’s history alive.”

The main hall and stage, conference room and kitchen are all available for hire, with community groups allowed a 50 per cent discount.

Newly appointed hall co-ordinators Adrian and Alex Hayward want the facility used and have created a Facebook page and a website at warkworthtownhall.nz.

“We are proud to promote this fantastic facility. New sound and video equipment will help attract events and we also offer catering and promotional services. In the new year there are plans for movie nights, Town Hall Talks every second Wednesday of the month, and a photo competition.”

Alex and Adrian are onsite most weekdays from 9am-12pm, call Alex at 027 527 8869 or email info@warkworthtownhall.nz.
