Quay St changing for good, from December 26

We’re making Auckland’s city centre waterfront safer and more people friendly. A first step is to bring Quay Street down to two lanes from Lower Hobson Street to Tangihua Street.

If you sometimes drive through this area, you might want to consider taking an alternative route. The bike lanes will remain in place and there will still be access into parking buildings in the area.

Buses will continue to have priority access from Albert Street into Quay Street.
