New park for Millwater

A playground, half court, fitness station and toilet are all planned for a new park in Millwater.

Hibiscus and Bays Local Board has approved concept plans for a park to be built at Bonair Crescent.

Local board chair Julia Parfitt says the park, located at Millwater’s southern end, will be a valuable addition to the park network.

“Many families will enjoy a beautiful park that is right on their doorstep and, for those slightly further away, there will be easy access via pedestrian links.

"There will be lots to do at a park which has something for everyone.”

Work is expected to start on the park in the next few months and it will feature:

  • a large lawn area for ball games;
  • a half court with basketball and netball hoops;
  • a playground with a rope climber, seesaw, slide, basket swings, in-ground trampolines, wobbly goals and a fitness station; and
  • a network of paths around its perimeter.

The park is next to a drainage reserve that includes stormwater ponds and a seasonal stream. As well as the park, the developer will also plant natives in the reserve and build a path network through the length of the reserve.
