In May 2018, venues across the city will host events to celebrate home-grown musical talent. NZ Music Month, run by the NZ Music Commission, has played an important role in helping local musicians and music lovers enjoy great gigs, discover new music and promote budding talent since 2000.

A keen music enthusiast, Albert-Eden-Roskill Councillor Christine Fletcher has been a staunch supporter.

“Music can connect people, no matter what our immediate circumstance. Its benefits are not new and that makes it doubly important to not take people behind making music for granted, the artists and those that support them, and encourage a thriving music scene for everyone to enjoy in our city and in New Zealand,” says Councillor Fletcher.

Venues in the Albert-Eden-Roskill area are hosting events featuring young artists as part of the month-long music celebration.
