Welcome to our new monthly series: ‘Fabulous things about Franklin’

This month, Franklin Local Board Chair Angela Fulljames shares a few of her favourite things about the region.

1. Where do you go to feel inspired?
When travelling to or from the city on the Pine Harbour Ferry from Beachlands. On a stunning day looking out at the islands and Hauraki Gulf, nothing seems impossible.

2. Where do you go for a night out?
During the week I meet with local community groups to support their volunteer work and find out how the local board can assist them. When the Hunua Theatre season is in full swing my husband and I always make sure we go to the opening night. A giggle always guaranteed and a good catch up with the locals.

3. Where do you take out-of-towners when they are visiting?
Auckland’s regional parks are stunning places and Franklin is fortunate to host 10 of them from one side of Franklin to the other. Clevedon Farmers Market is a favourite for visitors too.

4. What do you love about Franklin?
The diversity across the region – our environment from the west on one side to the east on the other, the people, the history, the small settlements and different places to explore.

I love how we are connected through community groups, neighbours, clubs, schools etc that keep people involved and contributing to their community.
