Celebrating our environmental heroes

Published: 24 August 2018

Throughout September, Auckland Council is shining a light on some of the work happening around the region to protect our natural environment.

We’ll be celebrating the hardworking ‘Environmental Heroes’ who protect our precious native species and habitats, providing Aucklanders with tips and information on how they can get involved with activities like pest control and plantings, and look at environmental projects happening across Auckland.

During Conservation Week (15-23 September), we’ll host the second “Pestival” where community groups come together to network, listen to presentations from environmental experts, chat and share ideas.

Later in the week we’ll be recognising the work of Aucklanders who demonstrate excellence in conservation with the first Mayoral Conservation Awards.
