Auckland Region Ballance Farm Awards

Published: 9 August 2018

The Ballance Farm Environment Awards for 2018/19 are now open and the hunt is on for environmental and sustainable farmers and growers in the Auckland region.

The annual awards are a chance to showcase and celebrate environmentally responsible and innovative farming and sustainable management practices.

These awards are organised by the New Zealand Farm Environment Trust, a charity set up to promote sustainable farming and growing.

The awards are an important opportunity for farmers and growers to learn from contemporaries and benchmark their operations against other like-minded people in their region.

Entrants are visited by a group of rural professionals who help identify opportunities to improve the financial and environmental sustainability of the farm business while understanding the challenges of the sector.

People are able to nominate another farming or growing business they feel would benefit from involvement in the awards programme.

Entries to the Ballance Farm Environment Awards close at the end of October. The entrants and award winners are showcased in regional functions held throughout the country in Autumn 2019.

Entering the Awards is free and takes two minutes by completing a form available online on the New Zealand Farm Environment Trust website.
