If you know unsung champions who generously give their time and skill to our communities, this is the perfect opportunity to thank them.

Puketāpapa Local Board’s Community Volunteer Awards 2018 recognize people’s selfless contribution and nominations are now open.

“Volunteers are the essential glue that bind our communities together, foster belonging and help people forge friendships. They are the ones that get things done,” says Harry Doig, Chair, Puketāpapa Local Board. “As a local board, we hugely appreciate their contribution to our area.”

Past winners have continued their work in a range of areas like youth development, elderly support, sports, arts, events, matters of faith and more.

Criteria for nomination

Only individuals can be nominated to the awards. If a group or an organisation has more than one person who may be eligible, they can be nominated as individuals.

They must live locally, within the boundaries of the Puketāpapa Local Board area or volunteer to benefit the communities within the Puketāpapa Local Board area and contribute to developing the Puketāpapa community.

If someone you know doesn’t live locally but does amazing work for the local Puketāpapa community, they’re eligible too.
