Applications closing soon

Published: 19 June 2019

Don’t miss your chance to compete in Stand Up Stand Out – one of Auckland’s biggest performing arts contests

Secondary school students across the city are invited to take to the stage in this competitive talent show.

Entrants will participate in heats for their chosen category of solo vocal, dance, solo instrument, band or group vocal; and are judged by a panel of industry experts.

Those who pass through the heats will receive music mentoring and recording studio experience, before facing off in the finals vying for more than $6000 in prizes and performance offers.

From RnB, reggae, folk, rock to jazz ballet, contemporary to hip hop, Stand Up Stand Out is your chance to shine.

“In the 7 years that I've been involved with SUSO, I'm constantly amazed at the level of talent showcased throughout the heats and finals," says Arts & Culture Programme Leader Gene Rivers.

"It's not only the level of talent that wows me it’s the sheer volume of young talent captured within the Auckland secondary school system. I've seen a number of SUSO students go on to professional working careers in the music industry and firmly expect this impact to be amplified in years to come.”

Entries close soon, so strum those strings and warm those vocals!
