Check out the Auckland Heritage Festival Programme, with events running from 5 to 28 October. To help you pick out a few events to attend, we've put together the Auckland Heritage Festival Diary so you can look at some of the events for your family.

Children's Couldrey House discovery day

When: Wednesday 9 October, 2pm - 3pm

Where: Orewa Library, 12 Moana Ave, Orewa

Cost: Free, bookings required

Orewa Library partners with Couldrey House for a children's day at the library.

Children will learn about how people used to journey to Wenderholm in the past, the challenges and how different it is today.

What does Wenderholm mean? They will find this out, see historical objects, hear old fashioned stories and make food from scratch as they would have then.

They will get to churn butter by hand and make a holiday picnic classic - and try their butter on some scones.

For more information, visit the Auckland Heritage Festival website.

Imagine the life of your tupuna (ancestors) as they journeyed across te moana (the ocean).

Get your imagination flowing by joining us for hands-on art activities throughout the museum.

Book a spot on Ted Ashby, our heritage sailing vessel and head out for a harbour sailing too.

Activity continues running outside of the festival dates.
