The Hits are creating a watering hole - a jungle juice bar - for The Lion King screening and Kaipatiki Community Facilities Trust are bringing an imagination playground to Toy Story 4.
For the kids, both events have free movie-themed face-painting, craft zone and photo booth, giving children a free photo on an imaginary film set to take home.
Come early, have a bite to eat in one of Auckland's glorious green spaces and settle in before the movie starts 10 minutes after sunset.
It’s been multiple summers since the first free screenings of box-office hits began in Auckland’s parks. This year, Auckland Council’s Movies in Parks team say movie titles are bigger, star quality is shining brighter, pre-movie entertainment is more comprehensive, and the number of people turning up for an evening under the stars is predicted to exceed recent audience levels of over 30,000.
Sixteen of our local boards and one regional park have provided funding for Movies in Parks screenings in their communities, a great chance for locals to discover their local parks and have fun and relax with friends and whānau.
