Auckland Rainbow Parade follows on from the previous Hero, Auckland Pride Parade and Auckland Rainbow Parades and is New Zealand's largest social and cultural celebration for the Rainbow Communities (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, takatāpui, fa'afafine, intersex, queer) and their friends and families.
The parade will bring a sense of community strength and spirit at a time most needed and a sense of celebration.
Ponsonby Road has long been regarded as the home of parades for the Rainbow Community and a place where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) people feel safe to demonstrate diversity, inclusion, self-acceptance and pride.
The parade, which will include light vehicles, starts at 7pm, ends at approximately 8.30pm and features participants from the community and corporate worlds coming together to put on a spectator event.
There will be pre-parade entertainment from 5.30pm featuring face painting, street activations and live music.
