Connecting to the Pacific Through digitalpasifik.org

digitalpasifik.org is a website to explore, discover and view the diverse cultural heritage of the Pacific.

Pacific collections are found in repositories around the world that are often inaccessible for many Pacific people.

digitalpasifik.org is a website that allows Pacific people to access their digitised cultural heritage.

Find out how the team is making these records visible and how you can contribute.

About the presenter:

Taputukura Raea is the Engagement Manager for the Digitalpasifik.org website, she is of Cook Island decent from the Islands of Mauke and Pamati.

She has a passion for working with Pacific and Maori communities and has previously worked for Victoria University of Wellington sharing Māori and Pacific traditional practices to students around Aotearoa, and at the Ministry of Education on the Tuia Mātauranga educational bus that toured the length of the country.

Her role now is to engage with institutions that hold Pacific collections and invite them to share on digitalpasifik.org so these can be visible and accessible to the people of the Pacific.

Book via Eventfinda to attend in person in the Art Gallery Auditorium (subject to any Covid restrictions at the time) or register to attend virtually via Zoom.
