Now in its 23rd year, the festival will be held in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) between 23 and 28 August 2022, and promises another rich and electrifying mix of authors across fiction, non-fiction and poetry, as well as public performances and theatre.
This year’s line-up boasts over 200 writers and thinkers, including globally-feted Russian-American journalist Masha Gessen, multi-million-copy bestselling author turned television dynamo Liane Moriarty, British philosopher A.C Grayling, Golden Globe winning actor and novelist David Duchovny, and Oscar-winning Director Jane Campion.
The programme also includes scientists, comedians, artists and public intellectuals, with events that include conversation, reading, debate, and performance, as well as school, family and free events, ranging fiction, non-fiction, poetry, music, theatre, culture, art and more.
The 2022 festival will present over 160 unmissable public events (both free and ticketed) this year.
