Te Ao Mārama – World of Light: Mana Wāhine (1)

Join us for a Te Wāhi Rangahau ki te Puku/Research Central exhibition showcasing seven mana wāhine trailblazers from Te Ao Mārama anthology series, their break-through collections and poetry.

Including the beautiful, electric and defiant works of Arapera Hineira Kaa Blank, Saana Waitai-Murray, Trixie Te Arama Menzies, Evelyn Patuawa-Nathan, Vernice Wineera, Marewa Glover and Roma Pōtiki.

These seven trailblazers are also featured in the stunning anthology series, Te Ao Mārama, which we also pay tribute to.

Experience the spirit of poetry which lives on through the power of words, crack-up humour, sheer tenacity and advocacy for a more equitable society for indigenous communities and wāhine.

Mauri Ora.
