Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan
Utagawa Kuniyoshi, “In the Ruined Palace at Sōma”

Auckland Central City Library is co-organising an international travelling exhibition Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan with The Japan Foundation and Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland.

This exhibition introduces Auckland audience to Japan’s Yokai (Japanese folkloric imaginary monsters) culture that extend from ancient period to the present day in various forms – picture scrolls, prints, movies, toys and in their pop culture Manga and Anime.

Exhibition is held at Auckland Central City Library with free entry. Various events will be held on site during the exhibition period.
