O le fogava'a e tasi - one family_pcwkwag2.jpg
2_m334znel.png

O le fogava’a e tasi’ is a Samoan proverb loosely referring to one family. In celebration of Pasifika month, indigenous knowledge in its many forms are celebrated.

Through talanoa with cultural advocates, showcasing measina (taonga) from different motu of the moana and activating Pasifika research and heritage collections embodies the very notion of this exhibition, O le fogava’a e tasi.

Connected by the ocean and our deep ancestral links, O le fogava’a e tasi - One Family metaphorically describes our similarities while at the same time highlighting our distinctiveness in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Measina, talanoa, heritage and research items surface the myriad ways Pasifika people embrace knowledge while simultaneously encouraging the exploration of new measina.
