An Academy Awards® qualifying international documentary film festival held annually in Auckland, Wellington, and online nationwide. It showcases the best feature-length and short films from New Zealand and around the world.
It includes the Doc Edge XR Exhibition, a showcase of digital interactive storytelling featuring top international and local VR, AR, installations, and digital stories. Suitable for anybody looking to broaden their understanding of the world and stories of people & places, Doc Edge welcomes all guests to experience life unscripted.
Film screenings will run from around 4pm through the evening, concluding around 11pm, depending on the evening's schedule. A full programme of film timings will be available when tickets launch on the 26th of April.
Doc Edge also offers learning and connecting opportunities for media professionals. Doc Edge Forum is an industry event that brings together local and international film, TV and other media professionals. It offers seminars, panels, masterclasses, and networking opportunities and will be held on 2-3 June.
The Capitol Cinema is a historic venue, being one of Auckland's oldest cinemas. Free street parking is available near the cinema on Rocklands Avenue and Wiremu Street.
Alternatively, there is a paid secure parking lot behind the cinema. If you're using the bus, the 25B and 25L stop outside the Capitol, and the OuterLink and 650 stop nearby on Balmoral Road. Please refer to the Auckland Transport website for further transport information.
