Starting with the basics of canvas preparation, students will be encouraged to move through a series of stages of experimentation with oil painting techniques to the final realisation of a finished painting.
The class will cover combining observational drawing with more painterly concerns.
Drawing proportions, tonal values and colour will be a focus.
Students are asked to bring along an image of the person they wish to create a portrait of.
All materials provided. Bookings are essential.
