In Mt Albert Library's Shared Reading group, participants listen to short stories and poems as it is read aloud by the friendly librarian Reader Leader.
Together, the group consider and discuss parts of the short stories and poems, such as what they found interesting or relatable. Through these shared, personal responses, participants walk away with a collective feeling of accomplishment and connection with the texts and each other.
This event is suitable for all adults looking to connect with others and engage with short stories and poems.
All levels of reading are welcome.
(Please note that this is not focused on adult literacy)
Each group meeting runs from 5:30-6:45, and we will look at one short story and one poem during this time. These are prepared by the Reader Leader, so all participants need to bring is themselves!
