Getting to Pakuranga Library during Reeves Road Closure:

Access the Pakuranga Plaza carpark from the entrance on Pakuranga Road or from Ti Rakau Drive at the new Palm Avenue intersection.

Underground carparking also available - please use the entrance at the Warehouse end of the building. Access this entrance via Cortina Place, off William Roberts Road, or from the Pakuranga Plaza carpark.

Saturday 6 July 2-3pm 

Robogals STEM Workshop 

Join Robogals for a fun and interactive workshop this school holiday season - no prior experience needed. Robogals is a UoA student run organisation that aims to inspire and empower tamariki to consider studying engineering and related fields.  

Suitable for ages 8 – 12. 

 


Sunday 7 July 2pm- 

Family Movie Afternoon 

Bring a friend, family, or just yourself, and enjoy a cozy afternoon movie session at the library.  

Popcorns and sweets provided. Suitable for ages 5+. 

 


Monday 8 July 2-3pm 

GKR Karate 

Always wanted to learn some karate moves & self-defense techniques?  

Join GKR Karate and have a go at trying out some fantastic skills at the library. 

 Suitable for ages 5+. Parental supervision recommended. 

 


Tuesday 9 July 2-3pm 

Mindful Matariki Playtime 

Get your hands messy and settle your mind. Come along and find out what we will be making! Something slippery? Slimey? Gooey? Or maybe something doughey?  

Suitable for all ages.  Parental assistance recommended for younger tamariki. 

 


Wednesday 10 July 2-3pm; 3-4pm 

Kitemaking Part 1 - Designing* 

Learn how to make a kite with Matua Calvin. This is Part 1 - designing session of the two-part kitemaking workshop.  

Suitable for ages 5+. Parental assistance required for younger tamariki. 

Limited kites available; RSVP required.

Thursday 11 July 2-3pm 

Starry Light, Starry Bright! 

Upcycle glass jars and make your very own glowing jar of the Matariki stars and the Milky Way.   

Bring along a clean and dry glass jar for this session. 

Suitable for ages 5+. Parental assistance recommended for younger tamariki. 

 


Friday 12 July 2-3pm

Make a wishing star to welcome the new year – think about your aspirations for the coming year and make these come true through the power of Hiwa-i-te-Rangi.

Bird Feeder 

Make your very own bird feeder to take home and attract beautiful native birds to your garden.

Taniwha Puppet 

Use your imagination and turn an old sock into your very own taniwha puppet.  

Bring along a long and clean old sock for this session. 

Suitable for 5+.  Parental assistance recommended for younger tamariki. 

 

Wednesday 17th  

11am -12pm 

SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium  

Join our friends at Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium and learn about the magic of Waitā (the star associated with the ocean) and the wild and wonderful creatures that reside in the mighty blue. 

Suitable for ages 5+. Parental guidance recommended for younger tamariki. 

 

2-3pm; 3-4pm  

Kitemaking Part 2 – Assembling *

Kai time: Star Galaxy Biscuits 

Decorate a star inspired biscuit and enjoy a Matariki feast with whanau or friends. 

Suitable for ages 5+. Parental guidance recommended for younger tamariki.  

Limited numbers; biscuit available on a first-come, first served basis. 

 

Friday 19th 2-3pm 

Water, water, everywhere!! 

Join educators from Watercare and learn about the wild and wonderful of our water, wastewater and their local environment.  

Suitable for 5-12. Parental guidance recommended for younger tamariki. 

 

Saturday 20th 2-3pm 

Seedling Pots 

Get busy for our Papatūānuku and make some seedling pots to add something pretty or yummy to your garden at home. 

Suitable for 5-12. Parental guidance recommended for younger tamariki.
