Join us in viewing three Council-owned historic buildings: Journey's End, a replica of an 1847 Fencible cottage; Laishley House built in 1858 for Reverend Laishley, minister of the Congregational Church; and the Blockhouse, built in 1860 as part of Auckland's defences. Some rooms will be furnished with locally sourced items in keeping with the era, and others will show memorabilia. There will be a display to celebrate 50 years of the Onehunga Fencible & Historical Society and the changes Pacific Island immigrants have brought to Onehunga. The archives will also be available for research.
